Moonlit Snowshoeing at the Winery

Get outside this winter and embrace all this season has to offer on our inaugural ‘Moonlit Snowshoeing at the Winery’ hosted exclusively at the St. Croix River Valley’s newest winery – Rustic Roots.  During this adventure, you will have the opportunity to traverse the beautiful grounds surrounding the winery under the glow of the moon and stars, followed by an après-snowshoe gourmet flatbread and wine or beer enjoyed by a roaring fire.

To begin your adventure, our GetKnit Gurus will greet you at our host location for the evening, Rustic Roots Winery.  You’ll be able to check in anytime within the first 30 minutes of the event window you choose (5:00 PM – 5:30 PM / 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM / 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM) so you can make the night your own.  After you arrive we will help get you into your snowshoes for your nighttime adventure under the stars.

Once you’re geared up, you’ll be set free to explore two different trails at the winery lit just for you and our group.  One trail will lead you into the snow-covered woods that surround the winery, and provides a more adventurous route with ups and downs and is just under 1 mile long.  The other trail will lead you into the vineyard and give you the opportunity to trek through the frost covered vines and offers a much more casual trek at only a quarter of a mile.  No matter what route you choose or if you’d like to enjoy them both  – you’ll have a full hour to snowshoe under the moonlit sky, plenty of time to enjoy the serenity of the valley.

As you get back to the winery from your self-guided adventure, you’ll be able to warm up by a roaring fire or head inside to our private space to enjoy a après-snowshoe adult beverage of your choice.  You’ll be able to choose between a hot glass of mulled wine, glass of wine, or a pint of local craft beer from Lift Bridge Brewing Company located just down the road in Stillwater.  After you’ve warmed up, you’ll be able to refuel with a late-night flatbread of your choice featuring some amazing flavors to choose from: Housemade Italian Sausage and Grape with feta, rosemary, balsamic glaze; Harvest Roasted Vegetable with butternut squash, parsnip, tomato with fresh mozzarella and lemon-herb crema; The Carnivore with housemade Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon with a spicy marinara; or keep it simple with The Basic with mozzarella and marinara.  After you’ve had your savory, it’s time for your sweets!  Join your Local Gurus out by the fire for a fire roasted s’more!

With your belly full, the rest of the night is yours – order up another beverage, enjoy the fire, kick up your feet and take in the beautiful views of the starlit sky from our private space inside the winery, or head home with a bottle of wine to keep the adventure going from the comfort of your PJ’s.  You’ll head home with a renewed love for Minnesota winters and warm memories of both the wine and wonders under the stars.
